Good for junipers, Japanese black pines, Japanese white pines, cedar, cypress, and all other conifers. When it comes to choosing bonsai soil, some folks are fussy about their mixes. That’s why we only carry special soil mixed by one of the largest bonsai nurseries in the nation – New England Bonsai Gardens. The soil you use affects rooting, feeding, watering and transpiration; it is where half your tree lives so this is our second biggest consideration in maintaining your bonsai. Our soil is a mix of Turface®, coarse river sand, fine pine bark, and micro and macro nutrients. It is sifted to remove all the large and fine particles.
