Podocarpus (aka Chinese Yew)
Podocarpus macrophyllus
Podocarpus is a slow-growing evergreen conifer native to China and Japan. It has dark evergreen foliage with leathery pointed leaves arranged on stiff symmetrical branches. Its foliage is yew-like, which gives it its common name: Chinese Yew. The Podocarpus is unisexual, with male flowers in cones and female flowers composed of cylindrical thickened scales.
The fruits of the Podocarpus are fleshy and brightly colored and often edible. New foliage comes in a light green color that turns darker with age. The pine-like foliage of the Podocarpus has been trained to resemble the styles of larger specimen trees. Highly versatile, the tropical tree adapts well to a variety of indoor conditions. It grows very well indoors, but slowly compared to other bonsai trees. The Podocarpus is easy to care for, which makes it ideal for beginners, and presents itself with a lush, colorful majesty.

We cannot ship to a P.O. Box, or to locations in Alaska or Hawaii .

All bonsai are shipped FedEx ground direct from the nursery and will ship separate from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.

Shipments are released on Mondays and Tuesdays only to avoid being held in-transit over weekends.

If you cannot guarantee someone will be home during delivery, consider shipping to your business address to avoid extreme temperature exposure.
