Haematoxylum campechianum, commonly known as the Campeche or Bloodwood tree, is a tropical tree species that is cultivated or styled as a bonsai.
The tree features a rounded, compact crown with dense foliage.The leaves of Haematoxylum campechianum are pinnate, meaning they consist of multiple small leaflets arranged along a central axis. The leaflets are oblong and have a glossy, dark green color. They provide a rich and vibrant foliage display.
Campeche produces small, fragrant yellow flowers. The flowers are inconspicuous individually but can form clusters or racemes, adding visual interest when in bloom. After flowering, the tree can develop small, elongated seed pods that contain seeds.
