One-Of-A-Kind Hawaiian Umbrella grown by Jim Smith
We are fortunate to have acquired several remarkable trees from Jim Smith, over the years, including an exquisite Portulacara Afra and a graceful Willow Leaf Ficus.
This Time, were lucky enough to acquire a small group of trees that were started by Jim and further cared for by his son Doug. We have spent time working these to tighten up the canopies with selective and careful pruning These are truly special plants linked to one of the fathers of tropical bonsai.
While this Hawaiian Umbrella tree did not originally belong to Jim's collection, it was nurtured at Jim Smith's nursery many years ago.
After much care and attention, we are delighted to announce that a few of these trees are now ready to find their new homes.

About Jim Smith:
Speaking of Jim Smith, although I never had the opportunity to meet him personally, I frequented his nursery in Vero Beach, Florida. For those who may be unfamiliar with Jim Smith, he was a globally renowned bonsai artist and one of the founding members of the Treasure Coast Bonsai Society.
Prior to his passing in 2009, Jim was the proud owner of the esteemed Dura-Stone Bonsai Nursery in Vero Beach, FL. Today, the majority of his remarkable trees are housed at Heathcote Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL, as Jim generously donated over 100 trees to the garden.
