Japanese Angled Jin Pliers
These pliers are about 7 1/4" in length. An ideal size for applying strength onto the wires or branches for styling or for twisting bonsai tree anchor wire. Jin Pliers are awesome. They are used to carefully remove or peal back bark for the purpose of drying out the under-lying wood. The resulting “jin” is used to give the illusion of age. They're also a great tool used to twist wire when anchoring bonsai trees into the pot.
This technique is used to produce the general aesthetic of weathering, fire damage and age. Jin can also be used to hide unsightly defects in the wood (rather than trying to cover up a blemish, the artist embraces it). Our Jin pliers are perfect to produce that rough and weathered look.
With a long nose and gripping mouth, our Jin pliers are perfect to give that rough and weathered look. They’re also perfect for related Bonsai tasks such as wiring, gripping, twisting and squeezing.
This 7 1/4" Carbon Steel Yoshiaki Jin and Wire pliers are built strong and designed for the toughest bonsai roots.
These - as all Japanese Yoshiaki Tools - are hand forged with high-carbon steel. They are the preferred tools of World Renown Bonsai Master Masahiko Kimura and they are used EXCLUSIVELY on our trees at New England bonsai Gardens.
