Frequently Ask Shipping Questions

When will my Bonsai Arrive?
Bonsai Trees are shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays. The Cut off time to process an order on Monday or Tuesday is 1pm EST. We only ship on Mondays and Tuesdays to prevent your bonsai from being held by the carrier over the long weekend and to ensure that your tree arrives healthy.


We will contact you within 24-48 hours with an e-mail confirmation of your order which includes a ship date and an arrival date so you can be prepared for your package. Please refer to the FedEx shipping times from the map below to determine the approximate arrival date.   


We encourage our customers to send their orders to their place of business to avoid their tree sitting outside in the hot sun or freezing cold until they arrive home.


Trees are shipped via FedEx ground and will ship separate from other items you may have purchased from BonsaiOutlet.com. If you order bonsai supplies, they will arrive in a separate box and possibly on a different day of the week.


Note: a business day does not include Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays. Example: We ship a Bonsai tree on Monday that takes 2 business days to arrive. You do not count the day we ship as a business day, so your package would arrive on Wednesday, the second business day after the ship date.

Can I request expedited shipping?
Yes. Please call our toll-free number (877) 806-3200 and we will make every effort to accommodate your schedule. Additional shipping charges will apply.


How do you package your bonsai for safe shipping?
Prior to shipping, your bonsai is watered to ensure that the tree has enough moisture while in transit. We then wrap the pot in shrink wrap. This not only helps to protect the pot during shipping but also helps to hold in moisture for the tree.


The tree is then placed in a box that has been sized to allow the tree several inches of space on each side. We then add peanuts to hold the tree in the middle of the box and protect it during shipping. The peanuts also add extra insulation from heat or cold.


Can I have an order shipped to my P.O. Box?
No. Our bonsai trees are shipped via FedEx Ground and a valid street address is needed to ensure proper delivery. We also cannot deliver to A.P.O., F.P.O. or foreign addresses.


Can I ship my order to a different address?
Yes! When you place your order and come to the Check Out screen, replace your address with the address you want to ship your merchandise to, and then continue. Remember to use a street address, not a Post Office Box, for any shipping address.


Can you ship outside of the US?
No. At this time we do not ship outside of the US.


What do I do when my bonsai arrives?
When your bonsai arrives, you should place the box in a shaded area to unpack it. Remember to unpack carefully because some settling of the contents may have occurred.


Take tree out of shipping container and remove any packing material that may be stuck in the branches. It may be helpful to remove some of the packing material before removing any trees.
