One-of-a-Kind Root Over Rock Premna Bonsai
This is a seriously cool Premna. The exposed roots have grown around the rock, giving the trunk a shape and character that would be nearly impossible to recreate today.
This tree came to us in a trade in May. We have kept it at our Massachusetts nursery, watched it settle in and confirmed that it is healthy and growing well. Now it is ready for a new home.
Premna are fun trees to develop. They grow quickly, respond well to pruning and can build a dense canopy with continued work. There are plenty of branches here for the next owner to refine, whether you want to work on it yourself or bring it to a professional.
The tree is planted in an unusual 7-inch ceramic pot that complements the exposed-root composition. We do not know who made the pot, so we are not going to guess. The tree and pot shown in the photographs are the exact ones you will receive.

Tropical Care
Premna is a tropical species and must be protected from cold temperatures. It can grow outdoors during warm weather but should be brought inside before temperatures become too cool. Provide strong light, warmth and careful watering during the indoor season.

This tree ships from our Massachusetts nursery and will be carefully packed to protect the trunk, exposed roots, rock, branches, soil and ceramic pot during transit.
Some leaf loss may occur during shipping. Premna can shed foliage after being boxed, transported or moved into a different environment. This does not necessarily mean the tree is unhealthy. Give it warmth, suitable light and time to adjust.
