Dwarf Jade (Portulacaria afra) is one of the most beginner-friendly bonsai species on the planet. It stores water in its leaves (succulent-style), grows quickly, and bounces back well from pruning, so you can learn the basics without feeling like every mistake is fatal.

- Dwarf Jade Pre-Bonsai – Approx. 10–14” tall and 8–10” wide. Each tree is unique in shape and branching.
- Tinyroots All-Purpose Blend Bonsai Soil – A friendly blend built for drainage and healthy roots.
- Glazed Bonsai Pot – A perfectly sized glazed pot and tray. Colors/styles vary, and we’ll choose a combination that looks great.
- Bonsai Wire + Drainage Mesh – About 3 feet of wire for anchoring and initial shaping, plus mesh with proper hole size for excellent drainage.
- Bamboo Chopstick – The essential repotting tool for loosening the root mass and working soil into air pockets without damaging roots.

Quick Dwarf Jade Care (Simple + Effective
- Light: Bright light is everything. A sunny window, sunroom, or grow light works great. More light = tighter growth and faster progress.
- Water: Water thoroughly, then let the soil begin to dry before watering again. As a succulent, it prefers “soak and dry” rather than staying constantly wet.
- Temperature: Tropical. Keep it protected from cold. Outdoors in summer is great; bring inside before nights get chilly in the fall.
- Pruning: This is where the fun starts. Let it grow, then prune back to build pads and structure. It responds quickly and reliably.
- Fertilizer: Feed during active growth to keep it pushing healthy new shoots.

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.
Important Guidelines:
** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
