Dwarf Leaf Hawaiian Umbrella Bonsai (Schefflera) – Thick-Trunk Pre-Bonsai
If you’ve been waiting for a Hawaiian Umbrella that doesn’t feel like starter stock… this is it.
These are old, pot-grown dwarf leaf Schefflera with the kind of trunk you normally don’t see in this category. The grower had them sitting because they “didn’t know what to do with them.” We do. We bought them specifically because they’re perfect for bonsai.
Limited batch: We’re releasing 15 trees from this group. We only have 25 total. The photo shown is representative. They’re all very similar in age, trunk quality, and overall vibe, with natural variation in shape and branching. You might receive the exact tree pictured, but either way: you won’t be disappointed.
What Makes These Special

Quick Care (Simple + Effective)
- Light: Bright light is best. Sunny window, sunroom, or a quality grow light.
- Water: Water thoroughly when the surface begins to dry. Don’t let it stay bone-dry for long periods, and don’t keep it constantly soaked.
- Temperature: Tropical—protect from cold drafts and low temps.
- Pruning: Let it push growth, then prune back to build density and shape. These respond well and fill in nicely.

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.
Important Guidelines:
** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
