European Olive Pre-Bonsai with Strong Base and Great Future Potential
This is one of several pre-bonsai we are posting this time of year.
Every spring, we work through a large volume of material, and while we move many trees into ceramic pots for retail, we also end up with a healthy group of strong pre-bonsai that simply do not get finished in time. That is the case here. There is nothing wrong with this tree. It is healthy, full of potential, and being offered online for someone who enjoys taking quality material to the next stage.
This European Olive has a fuller, more developed look right now, which makes it especially appealing for someone who wants a pre-bonsai that already feels substantial. The base has nice movement, the trunk has begun to develop character, and the canopy already gives you plenty to work with. It has that nice middle ground where it feels far beyond raw nursery stock, but still leaves room for branch selection, refinement, and your own styling direction.
The foliage has the classic look olive lovers want, with narrow leaves, soft silvery-green tones, and fresh extension growth pushing upward. European Olives have a distinctly old-world feel to them, and they make rewarding bonsai for growers who enjoy building age, structure, and personality over time.
Currently in a 6.5 inch training pot, this tree would be a great candidate for future wiring, selective pruning, and eventually a move into a ceramic bonsai pot when the time is right. A really useful piece of material for someone who wants healthy olive stock with a strong base and a fuller canopy already in place.
