One-of-a-Kind Japanese Black Pine Bonsai (Seed-Grown 1988)
If you’re looking for a Japanese Black Pine with real history, and the character that only decades can create, this is it. Grown from seed in 1988, this one-of-a-kind Japanese Black Pine has been patiently cultivated into a compact, powerful bonsai with rugged bark, strong structure, and the presence that makes JBP a cornerstone species for serious bonsai enthusiasts.
This tree was developed by Gerald Rainville, known for his long-term, health-first approach to growing Japanese Black Pines. This tree was moved to a Tokoname Grow pot in 2024, and given it's first styling in 2026. It’s a rare opportunity to own mature, seed-grown material with authentic provenance and future potential.
