This is a seed-grown Japanese Black Pine Shohin with the kind of presence that makes small pines so addictive to collect. The tree was started from seed in 1987.
Even at this size, the tree reads as “old”. A sturdy base, confident trunk line, and branching that’s already moving in the right direction.
