Shohin Japanese Black Pine Bonsai by Gerald Rainville with Powerful Nebari (One-Of-A-Kind)
This is a standout Japanese Black Pine from Gerald Rainville with one feature you simply can’t fake: the base. The nebari is strong and convincing, with radial roots that grab the soil and immediately give the tree a mature, grounded feel.
At shohin size, trees live and die by their trunk and root base, and this one delivers. The proportions are compact, the structure is clean, and the foundation is exactly what you want if your goal is to continue refining a pine into a serious small bonsai.
It’s planted in a Yixing bonsai pot that complements the tree well and completes the presentation. If you’re the kind of pine person who looks at the bottom third first… check out the base on this tree.
