Deep Green Accent Pot from Seizan Kiln
This special accent pot came from Seizan Kiln in Tokoname, Japan. During my visit in November 2025, I found it while walking through the kiln’s upstairs loft. It did not have a price on it, so after a little negotiation, I was able to bring it home.
This pot is new and unused, though it has the look and character of an older piece, which is part of what made it stand out to me.
This compact rectangular pot features a rich deep green glaze with subtle tonal movement, surface depth, and fine crackle character that gives it an aged, collected feel. The straight-sided form is clean and practical, while the darker glaze adds more presence than a standard small utility pot. Its proportions make it especially suitable for accent planting, kusamono, small shohin material, or companion display.

What makes this piece especially appealing is the combination of rarity and restraint. It is small, but it does not disappear. The glaze has enough depth and age-like character to make the pot feel discovered rather than manufactured, and that gives it real charm on the bench or in display.
