Handmade Bonsai Pot by Shuho (Hidemi Kataoka)
This handmade round bonsai pot was made at Yoshimura Toen in Tokoname by Shuho (Hidemi Kataoka), 5th generation. I visited the kiln in November 2025 and hand-selected pots directly from what was available on site, not from a catalog.
This piece has a strong flared silhouette with a rounded lip and a richly textured speckled glaze. The surface blends earthy brown, cream, and muted green tones in an organic pattern that feels both rustic and refined. It has a lot of visual movement without being loud, giving the pot a distinctive handmade character and a quiet depth.
- Condition note: This pot is new.
- Style: Round flared form with a softly rolled rim and balanced taper.
- Feet: Integrated scalloped feet formed into the base.
