Handmade Bonsai Pot by Reiho (Katsushi Kataoka)
This handmade bonsai pot was made at Seizan Kiln in Tokoname by Reiho (Katsushi Kataoka), 4th generation. I visited the kiln in November 2025 and had the honor of hand-selecting pots directly from what was available on site, not from a catalog.
Condition note: This pot is new and unused.
This glazed square bonsai pot features a deep profile, gently tapered walls, and a rich dark blue finish that gives it a bold, refined presence. The glossy glaze has excellent depth and contrast. Its stronger silhouette and generous depth make it especially well suited for a cascade compositions, flowering or fruiting material, and trees that benefit from a more substantial container with visual weight.

The combination of height, taper, and glaze color gives this pot a confident, architectural feel without becoming heavy. It is an excellent choice when you want the container to add presence to the overall composition while still keeping the focus on the tree.
