A professional-looking, resealable stand-up pouch of Bonsai Thrive 180, a time-release fertilizer specifically formulated for the specialized needs of bonsai trees.

The packaging design is split vertically. The left side has a clean, textured white background featuring the product name "BONSAI THRIVE 180" in bold, black lettering beneath an orange circular logo of a stylized crane. Below the product name, several key horticultural benefits are listed: "Long-Lasting Nutrient Supply," "Low Risk of Over-Fertilization," "NPK 19-5-9 in Every Granule," and "Improved Root Development."

The right side of the bag is a deep forest green adorned with delicate, light-green line-art illustrations of leaves and branches. A large, clear, crescent-shaped window on this side reveals the actual fertilizer inside: small, uniform, spherical granules in shades of deep indigo and light blue.

At the bottom of the pouch are icons for "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" and a green checkmark indicating the product is "Ready to Use." The weight is listed as Net Wt. 10 oz (280 g). The overall image conveys a high-quality, specialized maintenance product for bonsai enthusiasts.

Australian Brush Cherry Bonsai with Dense Rounded Canopy

This Australian Brush Cherry, also known as Tropical Cherry, is a great choice if you want a tropical bonsai that already has a full, finished look.

The canopy is dense, rounded, and healthy, with lots of small green leaves and fresh growth throughout. It has a classic tree-like shape right now, but there are also plenty of branches inside the canopy if you want to open it up and refine the structure over time.

That is one of the nice things about this tree. You can enjoy it as a full, rounded bonsai, or you can continue developing it by selectively pruning and opening up the branching. Australian Brush Cherry responds well to regular trimming, making it a fun and forgiving tropical bonsai to maintain.

The trunk has nice texture and a natural taper as it rises into the canopy. It gives the tree a grounded look without feeling too heavy. The small leaves help keep everything in scale, and the overall shape makes this a very approachable bonsai for both newer and experienced growers.

It is planted in an 11" glazed Japanese ceramic pot. The clean, light-colored pot gives the tree a bright presentation and pairs nicely with the dense green canopy.

Why We Like This Tree

  • Easy to care for: Australian Brush Cherry is a forgiving tropical species and responds well to pruning.
  • Dense rounded canopy: The tree already has a full, attractive shape.
  • Lots of branches: There is plenty to work with if you want to open up and refine the structure.
  • Small leaves: The foliage stays nicely in scale for bonsai.
  • Glazed Japanese pot: The light ceramic pot gives the tree a clean, finished look.

Care Notes

Australian Brush Cherry is a tropical bonsai and should be protected from cold temperatures. In warm climates, it can be grown outdoors in bright light. In colder areas, it should be brought indoors for the winter and kept near a bright window or under grow lights.

Water when the soil begins to dry slightly, but do not allow the tree to dry out completely. This species responds well to pruning, so regular trimming will help maintain the rounded canopy or allow you to open up the branch structure if you prefer a more refined look.
