This Is Everything You Want in a Mature Tropical Bonsai
This is the exact tree shown in the photos.
This Willow Leaf Ficus checks all the boxes for me. It is old, mature, beautifully developed, and has the kind of trunk taper that takes years to create.
The trunk starts with a wide, powerful base and narrows naturally all the way to the apex. There is excellent branching throughout the tree, including several strong primary branches and plenty of finer growth to continue refining.
Willow Leaf Ficus is also one of the best tropical species for bonsai. The long, narrow leaves stay in proportion with the tree, and the species responds very well to pruning. With regular trimming, the canopy can become even tighter and more refined.
The tree is planted in a 10" handmade ceramic bonsai pot with a blue and reddish-purple finish. I do not know who made the pot, but it is clearly handmade and pairs nicely with the light-colored trunk.
This is a serious tropical bonsai that already has the age, trunk, taper, and branch structure most people spend years trying to develop.

Shipping Note
This tree ships from Massachusetts. It will be watered, secured, and packed carefully for shipment. Minor movement of the foliage or soil may occur during transit.
Care Note
Willow Leaf Ficus is a tropical bonsai and must be protected from cold temperatures and frost. It can be grown outdoors during warm weather but should be brought inside before nighttime temperatures become cold.
Give the tree as much bright light as possible. Water thoroughly when the soil begins approaching dryness, but do not leave the pot sitting in water. Warmth, strong light, and regular pruning will help maintain compact growth and encourage additional branching.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
