This tree already shows the distinctive corking that makes Frank Yee Cork Bark Jades so desirable. The upright trunk and lower branches have visible cork bark texture, with fissured bark, warm tan-brown color, and aged surface detail that gives the tree immediate character.

The tree has a taller, upright structure with a compact canopy of small green succulent leaves. It is currently growing in a 10" grow pot, making it a strong candidate for continued tropical bonsai development.

About This Tree

This Cork Bark Jade has a clean upright trunk with visible bark texture and a well-positioned branching structure. The trunk already has the corked surface character that collectors look for in Portulacaria afra 'Frank'.

The canopy is compact and actively growing, with small rounded leaves and several branch directions for future refinement. It can continue to develop in the grow pot or eventually be moved into a bonsai container when the next owner is ready to refine the presentation.

Care Notes

Frank Yee Cork Bark Jade requires the same general care as Dwarf Mini Jade. It is a tropical succulent bonsai and is not cold hardy. In colder climates, grow it indoors in bright light and protect it from cold drafts. It may be placed outdoors during warm weather once nighttime temperatures are consistently safe for tropical plants.

Water thoroughly when the soil has dried down, then allow the soil to dry again before watering. Cork Bark Jade prefers bright light, warm conditions, and a well-draining soil mix. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
