Imported Chinese Elm Bonsai with Serpentine Trunk Movement
This imported Chinese Elm has a really nice flowing trunk line and a clean, finished look in its glazed Yixing pot.
The trunk is what gives this tree its personality. It rises from the pot with visible root character at the base, then moves upward in a soft serpentine curve. The movement is graceful without feeling forced, and it gives the tree a taller, more elegant presence.
The branch structure is already started throughout the tree, with pads positioned at different levels. The foliage has been kept open enough that you can still see the trunk and branching, which makes this a fun tree to continue refining. As the foliage fills in with regular pruning, the branch pads should become tighter and more defined.
The base has nice character, with exposed surface roots gripping into the soil and adding age to the lower trunk. The pale bark, small green leaves, and curved trunk all work together to give this elm a classic bonsai feel.
It is planted in a 12" glazed Yixing ceramic pot with a teal finish. The pot color gives the tree a fresh, polished presentation and pairs nicely with the green foliage and pale trunk.

Care Notes
Chinese Elm is a strong and forgiving bonsai species. It likes bright light and should be watered when the soil begins to dry slightly. Do not let the tree completely dry out.
In warm climates, Chinese Elm can be grown outdoors most or all of the year. In colder areas, it should be protected from freezing temperatures and overwintered appropriately. Regular pruning will help the branches fill in, tighten up, and develop better ramification over time.
