This imported Chinese Elm has a striking trunk line with real age and personality. The trunk rises from a rugged exposed root base, twists through the center of the tree, and opens into a branching structure that already has the bones of a strong deciduous bonsai.

The exposed roots are the feature that make this tree memorable. They grip the soil with a gnarly, aged look that gives the bonsai a more collected feel. Paired with the soft gray bark, fine branching, and bright new leaves, this tree has a natural, old-tree character that will only become more refined with seasonal development.

At 18" tall from table to apex with a 13" spread, this Chinese Elm has a strong upright presence in a manageable display size. It is planted in a 10.5" glazed Yixing ceramic pot with a turquoise finish that adds color and gives the tree a clean, finished presentation.
