A professional-looking, resealable stand-up pouch of Bonsai Thrive 180, a time-release fertilizer specifically formulated for the specialized needs of bonsai trees.

The packaging design is split vertically. The left side has a clean, textured white background featuring the product name "BONSAI THRIVE 180" in bold, black lettering beneath an orange circular logo of a stylized crane. Below the product name, several key horticultural benefits are listed: "Long-Lasting Nutrient Supply," "Low Risk of Over-Fertilization," "NPK 19-5-9 in Every Granule," and "Improved Root Development."

The right side of the bag is a deep forest green adorned with delicate, light-green line-art illustrations of leaves and branches. A large, clear, crescent-shaped window on this side reveals the actual fertilizer inside: small, uniform, spherical granules in shades of deep indigo and light blue.

At the bottom of the pouch are icons for "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" and a green checkmark indicating the product is "Ready to Use." The weight is listed as Net Wt. 10 oz (280 g). The overall image conveys a high-quality, specialized maintenance product for bonsai enthusiasts.

Imported Tiger Bark Ficus Bonsai with Sculptural Roots

This imported Tiger Bark Ficus has a lot of personality, especially through the lower trunk and root structure.

The base is the first thing that grabs your attention. The roots wrap, twist, and grip around the lower trunk, giving the tree a very old tropical feel. It has that natural ficus character we love, where the roots and trunk almost look like they grew around each other over time.

The trunk has mature texture, nice movement, and the classic Tiger Bark Ficus spotting along the bark. It rises into several established branches with healthy, glossy green foliage. The canopy is full, but still open enough that you can continue refining the pads and branch structure.

This is a good tree for someone who wants a tropical bonsai with character already built in. You can enjoy it as-is, or continue developing the foliage pads with regular pruning and shaping.

It is planted in a 9" glazed Yixing ceramic pot with a red finish. The pot gives the tree a bold, finished look and works nicely with the pale bark, green foliage, and rugged root base.

Why We Like This Tree

  • The root character: The roots wrap and twist around the lower trunk, giving the tree a mature tropical look.
  • The bark texture: Classic Tiger Bark Ficus spotting and rugged bark add age and interest.
  • The branching: Several established branches give the tree a strong structure to continue refining.
  • The foliage: Healthy glossy green leaves give the tree a full, tropical appearance.
  • The pot: The red glazed Yixing ceramic pot gives the tree a bold, attractive presentation.

Care Notes

Tiger Bark Ficus is a tropical bonsai and should be protected from cold temperatures. In warm climates, it can be grown outdoors in bright light. In colder areas, it should be brought indoors for the winter and kept near a bright window or under grow lights.

Water when the soil begins to dry slightly, but do not allow the tree to dry out completely. Tiger Bark Ficus responds well to pruning and can be shaped over time as new growth develops. Regular trimming will help keep the canopy compact and encourage better ramification.
