Imported Tiger Bark Ficus Bonsai with Sweeping Branch Movement and Elegant Canopy
This is the exact Imported Tiger Bark Ficus bonsai tree you will receive.
This imported Tiger Bark Ficus has a graceful, airy composition with sweeping branch movement and a canopy that feels lively without being crowded. The trunk rises with movement from an exposed root base, then sends branches outward in several directions, giving the tree width, balance, and a natural tropical rhythm.
What makes this tree appealing is the way it feels open and expressive. The left and right branches extend with personality, while the upper canopy gives the tree height and fullness. It has enough structure to display now, but there is still plenty of room to refine the pads, improve ramification, and bring the silhouette into sharper focus over time.
The exposed root base and aerial root detail add the ficus character collectors look for, especially when viewed up close. Paired with the glazed Japanese pot, this is a well-sized tropical bonsai that would add movement and contrast to a collection.
Why This Tree Stands Out

- Elegant Canopy: The foliage is healthy, open, and naturally arranged for future refinement.
- Tropical Root Character: Exposed roots and aerial root detail give the tree age and classic ficus appeal.
- Great Styling Potential: The branch structure offers plenty of opportunity to build cleaner pads and improve ramification.
- Glazed Japanese Pot: The 8" glazed Japanese pot gives the tree a clean, finished presentation.

Care Notes
Tiger Bark Ficus is a tropical bonsai and should be protected from cold temperatures. Grow it indoors in bright light or outdoors during warm weather, then bring it inside before temperatures drop below approximately 50°F.
Water when the soil begins to dry, and keep the tree in strong light to support healthy growth. Regular pruning will help tighten the canopy, improve ramification, and continue refining the tree’s sweeping branch structure.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
