Lavender Starflower Bonsai with a Broad Canopy and Lavender Blooms
This Lavender Starflower has a nice, broad shape with established branching, a sturdy trunk, and plenty of flower buds throughout the canopy. It was photographed in early July while it was actively flowering.
We decided not to prune it because it was continuing to produce flowers, and then I forgot to post it. So, the tree has continued growing since these photographs were taken and will be a little leggier than shown. The trunk and underlying branch structure are the same. It simply has additional growth that can be enjoyed for the flowers or pruned back later to tighten the canopy.
This is the exact Lavender Starflower bonsai you will receive.

About This Tree
This is a nice flowering tropical bonsai for someone who wants something a little more interesting than a basic green tree. The branching is already in place, the canopy has a naturally wide shape, and the extra summer growth gives the next owner plenty to work with.
You can allow it to continue flowering for a while or prune it back later to create a tighter, more refined silhouette.
Shipping Expectations
Lavender Starflower is known for dropping foliage during shipping. Some trees lose only a few leaves, while others may drop quite a bit. This is normal for the species and does not automatically mean the tree is unhealthy.
Once the tree settles back into warmth and bright light, it will normally begin pushing fresh growth. If you are expecting the tree to arrive looking exactly as it does in the photographs, this may not be the right species for you. It has grown since these photos were taken, and it may also lose foliage during transit.
The trunk, branches, pot, and underlying tree are exactly what you are purchasing.
Care Notes
Lavender Starflower prefers bright light, warmth, and consistent watering. Water thoroughly when the soil begins to approach dryness, but do not keep the tree constantly saturated. This is a tropical species and must be protected from cold temperatures.
Please Note
All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final - no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out - we're happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
