Lavender Starflower Bonsai with Lavender Blooms and a Spreading Canopy
Lavender Starflower is one of those tropical bonsai that always gets attention when it is flowering. The lavender flowers are unusual, the foliage stays fairly small, and this tree already has a nice trunk with plenty of established branching underneath the canopy.
We photographed this tree in early July and then made the decision not to prune it because it was continuing to flower. Of course, I then forgot to post it. It has continued growing since the photographs were taken, so expect the tree to arrive a little fuller and leggier than shown. The trunk and underlying branch structure are the same. It simply has additional summer growth that can be pruned back and refined.
This is the exact Lavender Starflower bonsai you will receive.

About This Tree
This is a nice flowering tropical for someone who wants more than a basic green bonsai. The trunk and primary branches are already in place, and the additional summer growth gives the next owner plenty to work with. It can be allowed to continue flowering for a while or pruned back to tighten the silhouette.
Shipping Expectations
Lavender Starflower is known for dropping foliage during shipping. Some trees lose only a few leaves, while others may drop a significant amount. This does not necessarily mean the tree is unhealthy. Once it is settled back into warmth and bright light, it will normally begin producing fresh growth.
If you are expecting the tree to arrive looking exactly as it does in the photographs, this may not be the right species for you. The tree has grown since these photos were taken, and some foliage may also be lost during transit. The trunk, branches, pot, and underlying tree are exactly what you are purchasing.
Care Notes
Give Lavender Starflower plenty of bright light and warmth. Water thoroughly when the soil begins to approach dryness, but do not keep the tree constantly saturated. This is a tropical species and must be protected from cold temperatures.
Please Note
All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final - no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out - we're happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
