A professional-looking, resealable stand-up pouch of Bonsai Thrive 180, a time-release fertilizer specifically formulated for the specialized needs of bonsai trees.

The packaging design is split vertically. The left side has a clean, textured white background featuring the product name "BONSAI THRIVE 180" in bold, black lettering beneath an orange circular logo of a stylized crane. Below the product name, several key horticultural benefits are listed: "Long-Lasting Nutrient Supply," "Low Risk of Over-Fertilization," "NPK 19-5-9 in Every Granule," and "Improved Root Development."

The right side of the bag is a deep forest green adorned with delicate, light-green line-art illustrations of leaves and branches. A large, clear, crescent-shaped window on this side reveals the actual fertilizer inside: small, uniform, spherical granules in shades of deep indigo and light blue.

At the bottom of the pouch are icons for "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" and a green checkmark indicating the product is "Ready to Use." The weight is listed as Net Wt. 10 oz (280 g). The overall image conveys a high-quality, specialized maintenance product for bonsai enthusiasts.

Mature Dwarf Jade Bonsai with a Heavy Trunk and Layered Branching

There is a lot of tree here.

This Dwarf Jade was started from a cutting approximately five years ago. Until early March, it was still growing in a nursery pot while we focused on building the trunk, roots, and primary branch structure. It has now been moved into an 8.5" glazed Japanese ceramic bonsai pot and is ready for its forever home.

The tree has a heavy trunk with good movement, a strong base, and a large amount of established branching. The branches are already arranged in several distinct levels, giving the next owner plenty to work with as the canopy continues to fill in.

This tree was photographed in early July immediately after it was pruned back hard. I never got the chance to upload it at the time, so it will be fuller than it appears in the photographs. That is a good thing. The trunk and underlying branch structure are exactly the same, but the tree has continued growing in the Florida heat since these pictures were taken.

This is the exact Dwarf Jade bonsai you will receive.

  • Current Growth: Photographed immediately after a hard July pruning and now fuller than shown.

About This Tree

Dwarf Jade is our number-one-selling bonsai species, and it is easy to understand why. It is forgiving, responds extremely well to pruning, grows quickly in warm conditions, and can be enjoyed by a beginner without feeling like a beginner tree.

This one already has the trunk and primary branch structure in place. The next step is mostly about refinement. You can continue building the individual foliage pads, allow the canopy to grow fuller, or selectively prune it to show more of the trunk and branches underneath.

What to Expect

The tree will arrive fuller than it appears in the photographs. These pictures were taken immediately after a hard pruning in early July, and the tree has continued producing new growth since then.

The trunk, established branches, root base, and glazed Japanese pot are exactly what you are purchasing. The additional foliage is healthy new growth that can be kept, shaped, or pruned depending on how you want to develop the tree.

Please Note

All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final - no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out - we're happy to help.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.

Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.

Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
