A professional-looking, resealable stand-up pouch of Bonsai Thrive 180, a time-release fertilizer specifically formulated for the specialized needs of bonsai trees.

The packaging design is split vertically. The left side has a clean, textured white background featuring the product name "BONSAI THRIVE 180" in bold, black lettering beneath an orange circular logo of a stylized crane. Below the product name, several key horticultural benefits are listed: "Long-Lasting Nutrient Supply," "Low Risk of Over-Fertilization," "NPK 19-5-9 in Every Granule," and "Improved Root Development."

The right side of the bag is a deep forest green adorned with delicate, light-green line-art illustrations of leaves and branches. A large, clear, crescent-shaped window on this side reveals the actual fertilizer inside: small, uniform, spherical granules in shades of deep indigo and light blue.

At the bottom of the pouch are icons for "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" and a green checkmark indicating the product is "Ready to Use." The weight is listed as Net Wt. 10 oz (280 g). The overall image conveys a high-quality, specialized maintenance product for bonsai enthusiasts.

An Established Korean Hornbeam in a Collectible Nick Lenz Pot

This is the exact tree shown in the photos.

I recently acquired this Korean Hornbeam from a local grower, artist, and collector. It is a substantial tree with a wide canopy, an aged trunk, and plenty of established branching.

The trunk is the first thing I notice. It has good size, movement, textured bark, and old pruning marks that give the tree a lot of character. The broad canopy is filled with healthy green foliage, and there is plenty of branch structure underneath for future refinement.

The tree is currently planted in a highly collectible Nick Lenz ceramic bonsai pot. To be completely honest, I would have preferred to separate the tree from this pot, but this is not the season to disturb the roots. I am offering them together and hoping the tree and pot find a great home.

This is an unusual opportunity for someone who appreciates both established Korean Hornbeam bonsai and collectible American bonsai pottery.

Korean Hornbeam is deciduous. Its leaves will change color and drop in the fall, and the tree will remain bare during winter dormancy before producing fresh growth in spring.

Shipping Note

This tree ships from Massachusetts. It will be watered, secured, and packed carefully for shipment. Minor movement of the foliage, moss, or soil may occur during transit.

Care Note

Korean Hornbeam bonsai must be grown outdoors. Give the tree bright light, good airflow, and some protection from intense afternoon sun during the hottest part of summer. Water thoroughly whenever the soil begins approaching dryness, and do not allow the root system to dry out completely.

Korean Hornbeam requires a cold winter dormancy. Protect the pot and root system during severe winter weather, especially from drying winds and repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.

Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.

Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
