This mature Pomegranate bonsai is just coming out of dormancy and pushing strong new spring growth. The fresh red-orange tips and bright green leaves are a great sign of seasonal vigor, and over the next few weeks this tree should continue filling in beautifully.
We wanted to get this one posted now because the structure is worth seeing. The tree has a mature, twisting trunk with attractive movement, aged bark texture, and visible surface roots at the base. As the foliage continues to develop, the canopy will become fuller, but even at this stage you can clearly see the bones of the tree.
Pomegranate is a classic flowering and fruiting bonsai species, appreciated for its seasonal character, small leaves, colorful new growth, flowers, and fruit when conditions are right. This tree already has a nice established feel and is planted in an excellent blue glazed Yixing ceramic pot that gives it a clean, finished presentation.
This is a great choice for someone who wants a mature deciduous/tropical-style bonsai with character, seasonal interest, and plenty of future refinement potential.

Pomegranate bonsai prefer bright light, good airflow, and consistent watering. During the growing season, keep the soil evenly moist but not constantly saturated. Protect from freezing temperatures. In colder climates, this tree should be wintered in a protected, frost-free location.
