Rare Red Flowering Chojubai in Eimei Tokoname Pot from Japan
This is the exact Red Flowering Chojubai you will receive.
This Red Flowering Chojubai has the kind of story and character that make a small bonsai feel truly special. Chojubai are rare, slow-growing, and highly valued for their compact structure, aged bark, and red flowers. This one pairs a beautiful exposed-root base with an authentic Eimei Tokoname ceramic pot personally selected in Tokoname, Japan.
The pot is part of the appeal. Ashley, owner of Bonsai Outlet, purchased this Eimei Tokoname pot while visiting Eimei in Tokoname, Japan in November 2025. A photo of Ashley with Eimei is included so you can see the source behind the pot this Chojubai is planted in.
At 10" tall from table to apex with a 6" spread, this tree has a compact upright form with excellent trunk character and incredible exposed roots at the base. It is planted in a 7" Eimei Tokoname ceramic pot that gives the tree a refined, collectible presentation.
This is an outdoor tree and should be grown with seasonal care. Photographed June 26, 2026, this Red Chojubai is healthy, vigorous, and ready for continued refinement.

About This Tree
Red Flowering Chojubai are prized because they develop slowly and reward patient, thoughtful bonsai work. This tree already has the kind of base worth building around, with exposed roots, textured bark, compact branching, and a pot with real provenance.
The Eimei Tokoname pot gives this tree an added layer of collectibility. It is not just a container; it is part of the story of the tree and was selected directly in Japan by Bonsai Outlet’s owner.
Care Notes
Chojubai should be grown outdoors. Provide good light, airflow, consistent watering, and seasonal dormancy. Protect the pot and roots during harsh winter conditions, but do not treat this as an indoor tropical tree.
Shipping Confidence
This tree ships from Massachusetts and will be carefully packed to protect the exposed roots, branches, foliage, Eimei Tokoname pot, and soil during transit.
Please Note
All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final - no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out - we're happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
