Rare Red Flowering Chojubai with Twisted Trunk in Eimei Tokoname Pot
This is the exact Red Flowering Chojubai you will receive.
This Red Flowering Chojubai has a compact, powerful shape with a twisted trunk, rugged exposed roots, and bright healthy foliage. Chojubai are rare, slow-growing flowering bonsai, and this tree has the kind of aged base and trunk movement that makes a small tree feel much more substantial.
The pot adds real provenance. This tree is planted in a 7" Eimei Tokoname pot purchased by Ashley, owner of Bonsai Outlet, while visiting Eimei in Tokoname, Japan in November 2025. A photo of Ashley with Eimei is included so you can see the source behind the pot.
At 8" tall from table to apex with a 6" spread, this Chojubai is compact, collectible, and full of character. The cream Eimei pot gives the red flowering variety a refined presentation while keeping the focus on the old bark, exposed roots, and future seasonal blooms.
This is an outdoor tree and should be grown with seasonal care. Photographed June 26, 2026, this Red Chojubai is healthy and ready for continued refinement.

About This Tree
Red Flowering Chojubai are prized for their rarity, compact structure, and red seasonal blooms. They develop slowly, which makes aged trunk character and exposed roots especially valuable when they are already present.
This tree has both: a memorable trunk line and a rugged exposed root base, paired with an Eimei Tokoname pot that gives the listing a stronger collector story. It is a small tree, but it has a lot to look at.
Care Notes
Chojubai should be grown outdoors. Provide good light, airflow, consistent watering, and seasonal dormancy. Protect the pot and roots during harsh winter conditions, but do not treat this as an indoor tropical tree.
Shipping Confidence
This tree ships from Massachusetts and will be carefully packed to protect the exposed roots, branches, foliage, Eimei Tokoname pot, and soil during transit.
Please Note
All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final - no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out - we're happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
