Twin-Trunk Australian Brush Cherry Bonsai
Due to California agricultural restrictions, this tree cannot be shipped to California. These restrictions are imposed by the State of California and apply to many growers shipping plants from regulated areas.
This is the exact tree shown in the photographs.
What makes this Brush Cherry different is the twin trunk. Both trunks rise from the same base and separate cleanly, giving the tree a balanced shape without looking too symmetrical.
Peter Olson thinned the growth and arranged the branches so each trunk remains visible. The open center is especially important on a twin-trunk tree, and there is already good separation between the two sides. The canopy can be tightened over time, or it can be allowed to fill in for a fuller tropical appearance.
There is a lot of branching throughout the tree, along with healthy green foliage and reddish new growth. Brush Cherry grows readily and gives you plenty of opportunities to make adjustments, which makes this a fun tree for someone learning how to develop finer branching.
It is planted in a 10-inch Yixing ceramic pot with rounded sides. The wider pot gives the twin trunks a stable visual base and leaves enough room for continued root development.

Ongoing Development
This tree already has the basic twin-trunk structure in place. Future work will primarily involve shortening new growth, improving branch division and keeping enough open space between the trunks. The existing wire should be checked regularly and removed before it begins to leave marks.
Tropical Care
Grow the tree outdoors in bright light during warm weather. Before temperatures become cold, move it indoors to a sunny window or place it beneath a suitable grow light. Water thoroughly as the soil surface begins to dry, then allow excess water to drain from the pot.
Careful Packing
This tree ships from our Massachusetts nursery. We secure the ceramic pot and carefully protect the trunks, branches, foliage and soil for transit.
Photography Note
Photographed September 29, 2026. The canopy will continue growing, and its color and fullness may change with pruning, light levels and the season.
Please Note
Tropical trees can shed some leaves after shipping or when moved to a different environment. Provide consistent warmth and bright light while the tree settles into its new location.
All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final. No refunds, returns or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, its care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out. We’re happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
