A Really Unique Privet in What I Believe Is an Erin Crescent Pot
This is the exact tree shown in the photos.
I recently acquired this Privet, and the first thing I noticed was the pot. The tree grows out of the crescent and extends almost completely to the right, making this a really interesting composition from the moment you see it.
The Privet has an older trunk with nice texture and plenty of established branching. The canopy is full, healthy, and ready for additional pruning and refinement. There is a lot to work with, but the basic direction of the tree is already there.
I believe the crescent is a handmade Erin Pottery piece from the United Kingdom. Erin often places the signature or maker’s mark inside the pot, and there is no way to see it while the tree is planted. Based on the look, texture, clay, and overall feel, I believe it is an Erin pot, but I cannot confirm that without removing the tree.
I am not going to disturb the roots in August just to look for a signature, so the pot attribution is not guaranteed. Either way, it is a great handmade crescent, and the tree works very well in it.

Shipping Note
This tree ships from Massachusetts. It will be watered, secured, and packed carefully for shipment. Extra care will be taken with the extended shape of the tree and the handmade pot. Minor movement of the foliage, moss, or soil may occur during transit.
Care Note
Privet bonsai should be grown outdoors with plenty of light and good airflow. Water thoroughly when the soil begins approaching dryness, but do not allow the root system to dry out completely.
The exact Privet species has not been confirmed. Provide winter protection appropriate for your climate, especially to protect the roots and handmade crescent pot from severe cold and repeated freezing and thawing.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
