Imported Japanese White Pine (Five Needle Pine)
This is a one-of-a-kind imported Japanese White Pine (JWP), also known as a Five Needle Pine. Each tree was hand-selected in Japan for its trunk movement, branch placement, and overall character.
Imported in January 2024, these JWPs arrived bare root before being carefully established in our Premium Bonsai Soil and Tokoname grow pots. We’ve held them through all four seasons at our Massachusetts nursery to ensure they’re fully acclimated and healthy before release.
Each tree is grafted onto Japanese Black Pine understock for added vigor. Old needles have been prepped, and the tree is ready for your styling—though we recommend giving it at least a season or two to strengthen its roots before major work. Patience is part of bonsai tradition, after all.
