Lantana (Lantana camara) is a popular flowering plant known for its vibrant and colorful blooms. While it is not a traditional choice for bonsai, some enthusiasts experiment with cultivating Lantana as bonsai due to its ability to produce small, attractive flowers and its potential for a compact growth habit.

One of the most appealing features of Lantana is its flowers. The blooms are small, tubular, and come in clusters. The flower clusters can exhibit a mix of colors, often changing hues as they mature. Common colors include shades of red, orange, yellow, pink, and purple, creating a beautiful mosaic of colors on the bonsai. Lantana has abundant flowering from Spring to Fall. 

Lantana is not frost-tolerant, so in colder climates, it should be protected from freezing temperatures. You can bring the bonsai indoors or provide adequate insulation during winter to protect it from cold damage.

It's important to note that Lantana can be toxic if ingested, so it should be kept out of the reach of children and pets.

The Lantana’s leaves and oil are also used in cosmetics, cooking and liquors.  It flowers in the Summer * Fall, and likes plenty of sun & humidity
