Vintage Yamafusa Japanese Ceramic Bonsai Pot

This is a vintage Yamafusa Japanese ceramic bonsai pot with a classic rectangular shape, deep blue glaze, and a quiet aged character that would pair beautifully with an older bonsai.

The pot features a dark blue glazed exterior with subtle variation in tone, including areas of deeper navy, smoky blue, and brown undertones. The rectangular form is strong and traditional, with rounded corners, a heavy rim, and sturdy feet. The interior is unglazed, giving the pot a more natural and practical planting surface.

This pot has the kind of age and understated presence that works especially well with a mature bonsai. Rather than looking new or overly bright, it has a softer vintage feel that can help complement an older tree with established bark, structure, and refinement.

This would be a good choice for a deciduous bonsai, broadleaf evergreen, tropical tree, flowering bonsai, or another older specimen where a glazed rectangular pot is appropriate. The deep blue glaze adds color and contrast without overpowering the tree.

This is a used vintage pot and does show signs of previous use, age, patina, and surface wear. Please review the photos carefully. The underside includes the Yamafusa maker’s mark.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.

Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.

Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
