Join us for a hands-on Ficus Fusion Workshop with Jesus Brito, where each participant will create their own multi-tree ficus fusion project under Jesus’s guidance.
Ficus fusion is an exciting bonsai technique where multiple young trees are carefully arranged and encouraged to grow together over time, eventually creating the appearance of one powerful, mature trunk. The example photo shows what a developed fusion project can become. In this workshop, participants will work with smaller, established pre-bonsai material and begin the process of creating their own future bonsai.
Each participant will work directly with Jesus to design and assemble a 3-tree ficus fusion project. For those who want to build a larger composition, participants may purchase up to two additional ficus trees at the nursery during the workshop, allowing them to create a 4-tree or 5-tree fusion.
Jesus will demonstrate the process, explain the “why” behind the technique, and guide each person through tree selection, positioning, securing the trees, and setting the project up for long-term success.
This workshop is best suited for beginner to intermediate bonsai enthusiasts, but it is not intended as a first-ever bonsai class. Participants should be comfortable working with trees and basic bonsai concepts, as this project will involve the use of various tools and hands-on construction techniques.
This is an all-inclusive workshop for the 3-tree project. Your fee includes the pre-bonsai material, pot, soil, wood screws, sphagnum moss, tubing, and all supplies needed to create your fusion project. Additional ficus trees, if desired, will be available for purchase at the nursery.
Space is limited to 10 participants, allowing for plenty of individual instruction and hands-on help.

Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
