Collected Olive Bonsai with Broad Ancient Trunk in Rustic Ceramic Pot
This collected Olive bonsai has a broad, powerful trunk that gives the tree an old, grounded presence right away.
Unlike the other collected Olive trees in this batch, this one is already planted in a ceramic bonsai pot rather than a Tokoname grow pot. The low, rustic pot pairs nicely with the wide trunk base and gives the tree a more finished presentation, while still leaving plenty of room for future branch development.
The trunk is the selling point here. It has a wide, weathered base with old bark texture, natural bumps, surface roots, and fresh shoots emerging from the older collected wood. This is the kind of material that gives you character from day one instead of starting from a young, smooth trunk.
This is still a developing bonsai, not a fully finished show tree. The new shoots can be selected, shortened, and refined over time to build the future canopy. For someone who enjoys working collected material, this tree gives you a strong foundation with a lot of personality already in place.
Olive bonsai are outdoor trees. They prefer strong sun, good airflow, and a well-draining soil mix. In colder climates, they should be protected from freezing temperatures and overwintered in a bright, protected location.

Care Notes
Olive bonsai should be grown outdoors in strong light. During the growing season, place the tree where it can receive plenty of sun and good airflow. Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to begin drying before watering again. Olives do not like staying constantly wet.
In colder areas, Olive bonsai need winter protection. Do not leave this tree exposed to hard freezes. A bright, cool, protected location is best during cold weather.
Shipping Information
This tree ships from our Massachusetts nursery. We pack carefully to protect the tree, pot, and soil during transit. Some minor leaf drop, soil movement, or light shifting can happen during shipping, especially with living trees.
Please Note
All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final – no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out—we’re happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
