Collected Olive Bonsai with Compact Trunk Base and Fresh Leaf Growth
This collected Olive bonsai is small, compact, and full of future potential.
The tree has a sturdy old trunk base with fresh Olive growth emerging from multiple points. It has the kind of collected character that makes these trees interesting to develop — older wood, natural texture, cut-back areas, and new shoots that can be selected and refined over time.
This is a developing bonsai, not a finished show tree. The appeal is that you get an older collected base in a manageable size, with healthy new growth already beginning to fill in. From here, the next owner can choose the best shoots, reduce what is not needed, and build a compact canopy around the trunk.
Olive bonsai are outdoor trees. They prefer strong sun, good airflow, and a well-draining soil mix. In colder climates, they should be protected from freezing temperatures and overwintered in a bright, protected location.

Care Notes
Olive bonsai should be grown outdoors in strong light. During the growing season, place the tree where it can receive plenty of sun and good airflow. Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to begin drying before watering again. Olives do not like staying constantly wet.
In colder areas, Olive bonsai need winter protection. Do not leave this tree exposed to hard freezes. A bright, cool, protected location is best during cold weather.
Shipping Information
This tree ships from our Massachusetts nursery. We pack carefully to protect the tree, pot, and soil during transit. Some minor leaf drop, soil movement, or light shifting can happen during shipping, especially with living trees.
Please Note
All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final – no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out—we’re happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
