A professional-looking, resealable stand-up pouch of Bonsai Thrive 180, a time-release fertilizer specifically formulated for the specialized needs of bonsai trees.

The packaging design is split vertically. The left side has a clean, textured white background featuring the product name "BONSAI THRIVE 180" in bold, black lettering beneath an orange circular logo of a stylized crane. Below the product name, several key horticultural benefits are listed: "Long-Lasting Nutrient Supply," "Low Risk of Over-Fertilization," "NPK 19-5-9 in Every Granule," and "Improved Root Development."

The right side of the bag is a deep forest green adorned with delicate, light-green line-art illustrations of leaves and branches. A large, clear, crescent-shaped window on this side reveals the actual fertilizer inside: small, uniform, spherical granules in shades of deep indigo and light blue.

At the bottom of the pouch are icons for "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" and a green checkmark indicating the product is "Ready to Use." The weight is listed as Net Wt. 10 oz (280 g). The overall image conveys a high-quality, specialized maintenance product for bonsai enthusiasts.

Exceptional Dwarf Hinoki Cypress Pre-Bonsai, Ready for Your Design

There is a reason these dwarf Hinoki Cypress have been selling like hotcakes. Hinoki Cypress is one of those species that naturally looks right as a bonsai. Its compact, fan-shaped foliage grows in layered sprays, creating the texture and depth of a much larger tree. Bright green new growth contrasts beautifully with the darker mature foliage, while the reddish-brown bark becomes more textured and interesting with age.

These are not ordinary nursery shrubs. Each tree has been individually opened up by bonsai professional John Romano. John removed enough growth to reveal the trunk, primary branches and possibilities hidden inside, but he stopped before wiring or committing the tree to a finished design.

That makes these especially good material for someone who wants a strong starting point without buying a tree that has already been designed for them. The difficult first look has been done. You can see the structure, choose your front and decide where the tree goes next.

Continue developing your tree at home, bring it to a club workshop or work with a professional artist. Each one offers a different trunk line and branch arrangement, so take a close look at the photographs and choose the tree that speaks to you.

Shipping Confidence

These trees ship from our Massachusetts nursery and will be carefully packed to protect the trunk, branches, roots, soil and nursery pot during transit.

Please Note

These are outdoor trees and must be grown outdoors. All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final. No refunds, returns or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, its care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out. We’re happy to help.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.

Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.

Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
