Dwarf Jade Bonsai in Soft White Japanese Pot with Full Canopy and Strong Trunk
This Dwarf Jade bonsai has a full, rounded canopy, a strong textured trunk, and a soft white Japanese ceramic pot that gives the whole tree a clean, elegant presentation.
The shape is what makes this tree so appealing. It has a sturdy central trunk, visible surface roots, and branching that spreads naturally into a compact tree form. The foliage is already full, but still has plenty of room for future refinement as the new owner continues to prune, shape, and develop the pads over time.
Dwarf Jade, also known as Portulacara afra, is one of the most beginner-friendly tropical bonsai species we offer. It has small, rounded succulent leaves, attractive bark texture, and a forgiving growth habit. It responds well to pruning and is a great choice for someone who wants a real bonsai experience without starting with a tiny seedling or undeveloped starter plant.
The soft white Japanese ceramic pot gives this tree a brighter, more refined look. It pairs beautifully with the green foliage and helps the tree feel finished enough to enjoy right away, while still leaving plenty of creative opportunity for future styling.
This is a tropical bonsai. It can be grown outdoors during warm weather, but it must be protected from cold temperatures. In colder climates, bring it indoors before temperatures drop and keep it in the brightest location available.

Care Notes
Dwarf Jade bonsai prefer bright light and a well-draining soil mix. During warm weather, this tree can be grown outdoors in bright light after being properly acclimated. Indoors, place it near your brightest window or under a quality grow light.
Water thoroughly when the soil is dry or nearly dry. Dwarf Jade stores moisture in its leaves and stems, so it does not want to stay constantly wet. For this species, overwatering is usually a bigger concern than underwatering.
Protect this tree from cold. Dwarf Jade is a tropical species and should not be exposed to freezing temperatures.

The photos show the exact tree you will receive. Dwarf Jade bonsai are living trees, and some minor leaf drop, soil movement, or stress from shipping is possible. This is normal and does not necessarily mean the tree is unhealthy. After arrival, unpack the tree carefully, place it in bright light, and allow it time to adjust before doing any major pruning or styling.
Please Note: All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final – no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out—we’re happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
