Established Dwarf Jade Bonsai in Cream Japanese Pot with Rounded Canopy and Easy Care
This Dwarf Jade bonsai has a clean, simple, and very approachable look.
The tree has a sturdy upright trunk, a nicely rounded canopy, and bright green succulent foliage that gives it a cheerful, healthy appearance. It is planted in a cream Japanese ceramic pot that keeps the presentation soft and understated, allowing the trunk and foliage to stay the focus.
Dwarf Jade, also known as Portulacara afra, is one of our favorite tropical bonsai species for beginners. It is durable, forgiving, and much less fussy than many other indoor-friendly bonsai options. It stores water in its leaves and branches, responds well to pruning, and can be maintained as a compact, attractive bonsai with basic care.
This tree already has a bonsai shape, but it is not overly complicated. That makes it a great choice for someone who wants a real bonsai with age and structure, without feeling overwhelmed. The rounded canopy can be maintained with light trimming, and the branch structure can continue to be refined over time.
This is a tropical bonsai. It can be grown outdoors during warm weather, but it must be protected from cold temperatures. In colder climates, bring it indoors before temperatures drop and keep it in the brightest location available.

Care Notes
Dwarf Jade bonsai prefer bright light and a well-draining soil mix. During warm months, this tree can be grown outdoors in bright light once it has been properly acclimated. Indoors, place it near your brightest window or under a quality grow light.
Water thoroughly when the soil is dry or nearly dry. Dwarf Jade stores moisture in its leaves and stems, so it does not want to stay constantly wet. For this species, overwatering is usually a bigger concern than underwatering.
Protect this tree from cold. Dwarf Jade is a tropical species and should not be exposed to freezing temperatures.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
