Fused Imported Tiger Bark Ficus Pre-Bonsai – Choose Your Exact Tree

Eight Fused Tiger Bark Ficus. A Little Time, a Lot of Potential.

A couple of months ago, we hosted Jesus Britro for a workshop where we created fused Tiger Bark Ficus arrangements. We were excited about the results, so after Jesus left, Peter and others on our team created a few more for our online customers.

These arrangements take time to assemble. You need to select trees that complement one another, work out how the trunks fit together, and secure everything in a way that gives the arrangement a natural direction as it develops.

The goal is for the individual trunks to grow together until they look as though they have always been one tree. They still have some growing to do, but in a couple of years, we think these are going to be something pretty special.

The Tree You Select Is the Tree We Will Ship

Please review each tree’s photographs before choosing. Every arrangement is different, and there is only one of each available.

We currently have eight arrangements for sale. We do not know whether more will be posted before next spring.

Measurements below are height × width. Height is measured from the soil surface to the apex, or top of the tree. Width is the spread of the foliage. All eight arrangements are planted in 10-inch oval plastic training pots.

These are developing pre-bonsai. The trunks have been positioned and secured, but the fusion process is still underway. Expect approximately two years for the trunks to grow together and develop a more unified appearance. Actual timing will depend on the tree’s growth, care, and growing conditions.

The assembly work gives you a head start. Now comes the rewarding part: watching the trunks fill out, the seams become less noticeable, and the arrangement develop its own character.

Important: The Screw Holding the Trees Together

Each arrangement has a small wood screw holding the trees together while they fuse. You do not need to remove this screw. It is intended to stay in place as the tree grows around it.

The tip of the screw may extend beyond the trunk and could be sharp. Please handle your tree carefully. You can leave the exposed tip in place or snip off the protruding point with a tool designed to cut metal. Do not use bonsai pruning shears or loosen the screw securing the trees.

When to Move Into a Ceramic Pot

We recommend leaving these arrangements in their current plastic training pots until at least next spring. Once your tree is healthy and growing actively in warm conditions, you can consider moving it into a ceramic bonsai pot.

There is no need to rush. For now, the priority is healthy growth and allowing the trees to establish together.

Photography Note

The photographs for each numbered option show the actual Tiger Bark Ficus arrangement offered for sale at the time of photography (September 15, 2026).

The density, shape, and color of the foliage will change naturally with pruning, new growth, care, and the seasons. The appearance of the trunks will also change as the trees grow and continue to fuse.

Shipping Note

These trees ship from Massachusetts. Your selected tree will be watered as needed, secured, and packed carefully for shipment. Minor movement of the foliage, soil, or growing medium may occur during transit.

Care Note

Tiger Bark Ficus appreciates plenty of bright light and warm growing conditions. Check the soil regularly and water thoroughly when the surface begins to dry, allowing excess water to drain away. Avoid keeping the soil constantly soggy, but do not let the root ball dry out completely.

Tiger Bark Ficus is tropical and must be protected from frost and cold temperatures. In colder climates, bring it indoors before cool fall weather arrives and place it in a bright location away from cold drafts and heating vents. A grow light can help when natural light is limited.

Some leaf drop can occur after shipping or a change in location. Keep conditions consistent, check soil moisture before watering, and give the tree time to adjust. While the trunks are fusing, avoid pulling them apart or disturbing the points where they meet.
