The Second of Two Commissioned Arrangements
Due to California agricultural restrictions, this tree cannot be shipped to California. These restrictions are imposed by the State of California and apply to many growers shipping plants from regulated areas.
This is the exact arrangement and pot shown in the photographs.
We originally created two similar Hawaiian Umbrella arrangements for a commissioned project. One was planted in a blue pot, and the other was planted in this off-white Yixing ceramic pot. The customer selected the blue one, which leaves this arrangement available.
This is a substantial planting with a wide spread and a large number of established trunks. It was recently pruned back hard and is carrying roughly half the foliage it normally would. Once it fills back in, this should become a big, lush tropical arrangement.
The off-white crackle-glazed pot is a show-quality Yixing ceramic piece with decorative feet. It is a large, heavy pot and represents a meaningful part of the overall presentation.

Expect It to Fill In
The current photographs show the arrangement shortly after a substantial pruning. Numerous cut branches and fresh shoots are visible throughout the planting. Hawaiian Umbrella responds well to warm temperatures and regular trimming, so there is plenty here to build back into a dense canopy.
You can allow it to grow into one broad mass of foliage or continue separating the canopy into smaller sections that reveal more of the individual trunks.
Hawaiian Umbrella Care
This is a tropical plant. It can grow outdoors during warm weather in bright light after being gradually acclimated. Bring it inside before nights turn cold and place it near a bright window or beneath a grow light.
Water thoroughly when the soil begins approaching dryness. Allow excess water to drain, and do not leave the pot standing in water. Strong light, warmth and regular feeding during active growth will help the arrangement regain its full canopy.
Shipping or Local Pickup
This arrangement ships from our Massachusetts nursery. The large ceramic pot makes it heavy, but it can be packed and shipped with the pot secured, the soil surface protected and the canopy supported.
If you are able to visit us in Massachusetts, local pickup is also available and may be the easier option for an arrangement of this size.
