A professional-looking, resealable stand-up pouch of Bonsai Thrive 180, a time-release fertilizer specifically formulated for the specialized needs of bonsai trees.

The packaging design is split vertically. The left side has a clean, textured white background featuring the product name "BONSAI THRIVE 180" in bold, black lettering beneath an orange circular logo of a stylized crane. Below the product name, several key horticultural benefits are listed: "Long-Lasting Nutrient Supply," "Low Risk of Over-Fertilization," "NPK 19-5-9 in Every Granule," and "Improved Root Development."

The right side of the bag is a deep forest green adorned with delicate, light-green line-art illustrations of leaves and branches. A large, clear, crescent-shaped window on this side reveals the actual fertilizer inside: small, uniform, spherical granules in shades of deep indigo and light blue.

At the bottom of the pouch are icons for "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" and a green checkmark indicating the product is "Ready to Use." The weight is listed as Net Wt. 10 oz (280 g). The overall image conveys a high-quality, specialized maintenance product for bonsai enthusiasts.

A Mature Privet Paired with a Collectible Don Gould Pot

This is the exact tree shown in the photos.

I purchased this mature Privet from a local grower, collector, and artist. It has a full canopy, a lot of established branching, and an old trunk with plenty of character.

The trunk separates into two main sections and has an interesting hollow running through the center. Mature branches extend outward to create a broad canopy, with plenty of smaller growth already in place. Privet responds well to pruning, so the canopy can be tightened and refined while preserving the tree’s mature shape.

The pot is a very collectible handmade piece by Don Gould. If the timing were different, I probably would have separated the tree from the pot and kept the pot in my personal collection. This is not the right time of year to disturb the roots, so the tree and pot are being offered together. Hopefully, they find a great home with someone who appreciates both.

The dark, textured surface of the pot works beautifully with the mature trunk, bright foliage, and moss-covered soil. This is a special pairing of an established bonsai and a collectible American bonsai pot.

Shipping Note

This tree ships from Massachusetts. It will be watered, secured, and packed carefully for shipment. Minor movement of the foliage, moss, or soil may occur during transit.

Care Note

Privet appreciates plenty of light, good airflow, and regular pruning during active growth. Water thoroughly when the soil begins approaching dryness, but do not allow the root system to dry out completely.

The exact Privet species has not been confirmed. Winter protection should be based on your climate, with particular care taken to protect the ceramic pot and root system from severe cold and repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.

Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.

Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
