Tall Dwarf Jade Bonsai with an Open Trunk Line and Established Branching

This is a tall, upright Dwarf Jade with a lot of established branching and a trunk line that stays visible from the base all the way to the top of the tree.

It was started from a cutting in 2022 and spent the next several years growing and building structure before being moved into this 9.5" unglazed Yixing ceramic pot. At 22" tall, it has a noticeably different look from the shorter, heavier Jades in this batch. It feels lighter, taller, and more open, with branches positioned at several levels throughout the tree.

These photographs were taken in early July immediately after we pruned the tree back hard. I never got the chance to upload it at the time, so it will be fuller than it appears in the pictures. That is a good thing. The trunk and underlying branch structure are exactly the same; it simply has more healthy new growth now.

About This Tree

Dwarf Jade is our number-one-selling bonsai tree, and there is a reason for that. It is forgiving, responds extremely well to pruning, and grows quickly in warm conditions. It is easy enough for a beginner, but there is still plenty here for someone who enjoys shaping and refining a tree over time.

This one already has the trunk and primary branch structure in place. The next owner can allow the foliage to fill in around the existing branches, continue building separate foliage areas, or keep it more open so the height and trunk line remain visible.

What to Expect

The tree will arrive fuller than it appears in the photographs. These pictures were taken immediately after a hard pruning in early July, and the tree has continued growing since then.

The trunk, established branches, root base, and unglazed Yixing pot are exactly what you are purchasing. The additional foliage is healthy new growth that can be kept, shaped, or pruned depending on the direction you want to take the tree.
