A complete Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia) indoor bonsai tree starter kit from Bonsai Outlet, presented on a light-colored wooden tabletop against a plain white wall. The central feature is a mature Chinese Elm bonsai with a thick, textured grey-brown trunk that curves gracefully upward, supporting a lush canopy of small, serrated green leaves. The tree is planted in a traditional rectangular, green-glazed ceramic bonsai pot. To the left of the tree, an open wooden storage box displays essential bonsai care tools, including a pair of professional-grade pruning shears with bright red handles, a coil of black training wire, and two white bottles of bonsai fertilizer. To the right of the bonsai, a black humidity tray holds a "Survival Guide" instructional booklet, which features a detailed line drawing of a bonsai tree on its cover. This all-inclusive kit highlights the elegance and accessibility of growing a Chinese Elm bonsai indoors.

Start Your Bonsai Adventure

Whether this is your first tree or a thoughtful gift, the Chinese Elm Starter Bundle makes it simple to bring the joy of bonsai into everyday life.

Please Note: The Chinese Elm is awesome and you're going to love it, BUT, it does go SEMI-DORMANT during the Winter, so just be prepared for 60-80% leaf loss. Don't worry, they'll come back.  They always do.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.

Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.

Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
