A professional-looking, resealable stand-up pouch of Bonsai Thrive 180, a time-release fertilizer specifically formulated for the specialized needs of bonsai trees.

The packaging design is split vertically. The left side has a clean, textured white background featuring the product name "BONSAI THRIVE 180" in bold, black lettering beneath an orange circular logo of a stylized crane. Below the product name, several key horticultural benefits are listed: "Long-Lasting Nutrient Supply," "Low Risk of Over-Fertilization," "NPK 19-5-9 in Every Granule," and "Improved Root Development."

The right side of the bag is a deep forest green adorned with delicate, light-green line-art illustrations of leaves and branches. A large, clear, crescent-shaped window on this side reveals the actual fertilizer inside: small, uniform, spherical granules in shades of deep indigo and light blue.

At the bottom of the pouch are icons for "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" and a green checkmark indicating the product is "Ready to Use." The weight is listed as Net Wt. 10 oz (280 g). The overall image conveys a high-quality, specialized maintenance product for bonsai enthusiasts.

Imported Tiger Bark Ficus Bonsai with Powerful Root Base in Unglazed Yixing Pot

This is an incredible specimen of Tiger Bark Ficus with the kind of presence that immediately commands attention. Large, mature, and full of authority, this tree has a heavy trunk, powerful root base, and a broad canopy that gives it real weight on the bench. It does not feel small or casual. This is the kind of bonsai that anchors a display and makes everything around it feel quieter.

The trunk is thick, aged, and full of character, with rugged bark texture and a strong base that transitions into dramatic exposed roots. Those roots grip the soil with force and help give the entire tree a grounded, muscular look. Above that, the trunk divides into multiple strong sections that support a wide, mature canopy. The branching has enough density to feel established, while still leaving room for future refinement and pad development. It already reads as an important tree.

One of the most appealing things about this specimen is its balance of mass and structure. It has substantial visual weight, but it does not feel clumsy. The canopy spreads well across the composition, with multiple foliage masses creating depth, movement, and a feeling of maturity. There is a lot to look at here. The lower root flare, the aged trunk surface, the branch distribution, and the full tropical foliage all work together to create a tree with real presence and credibility.

This tree was imported in late 2024. After import, it was moved into a plastic grow pot to re-establish itself and regain strength. In early 2025, it was moved into its current unglazed Yixing ceramic pot, where it now presents as a serious, display-worthy bonsai. That progression matters. This is not a rushed tree. It has been given the time and steps needed to settle in properly and continue moving in the right direction.

Tiger Bark Ficus remains one of the most rewarding tropical species in bonsai. It responds well to pruning, develops ramification over time, and can create the kind of aged tropical image that collectors are always looking for. In a specimen of this size and quality, those strengths become even more obvious. This is a tree with real substance, not just potential.

The unglazed Yixing ceramic pot suits the tree perfectly. Its understated, earthy tone keeps the focus where it belongs, on the trunk, roots, and canopy. It gives the composition a more serious and grounded presentation, which is exactly what a specimen of this size calls for.

This is a great choice for someone who wants a large, commanding tropical bonsai with real age, real presence, and the kind of trunk and root character that cannot be rushed. It is an impressive imported specimen that already feels important, and it should only become more compelling with continued care and refinement.
