Handmade Bonsai Pot by Paul Olson
A deep square pot with softly rounded corners, in warm brown stoneware left unglazed. Loose carved marks cross the walls, a beaded band runs around the base, and it stands on small carved feet. With 4 inches of height it has room for a heavy trunk and a full root mass. Well suited to a powerful juniper, a pine, or a mature collected tree.

About the Potter: Paul Olson is well known in New England bonsai circles. He began making bonsai pots in 2006 to house his own growing collection. He is also an illustrator and painter, a senior critic in the Illustration Department at the Rhode Island School of Design, and a visiting lecturer at the Massachusetts College of Art. His pottery was shown at the 3rd National Juried Bonsai Pottery Exhibition at the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum in 2015, where one piece earned Second Place in the rectangle category.
