A great slab changes the whole composition. It turns a tree into a landscape and gives kusamono and accent plantings a stage of their own. Every slab in this collection was built by hand by Preston Duncan, so no two are ever alike. Pick the one that speaks to you.
How Preston Builds Each Slab
Each slab starts with a hand-shaped stainless-steel wire armature for strength and long-term stability. Preston then builds the form entirely by hand using a custom ceramic blend he developed himself. No molds. No casting. Every ridge, edge and contour is sculpted individually.
After shaping, the slab cures slowly for over two months. It is then hand-textured and stained for a weathered, stone-like finish, followed by an additional 30-day cure.

Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
