Crouching Animal Suiseki Stone
This fascinating Indonesian Suiseki stone has an unusual sculptural shape that can resemble a crouching animal, with a rounded body and a projecting head. From another perspective, it suggests a mountain ridge with a sheltered cave beneath it. It was collected from the Ombilin River in the Sijunjung area of West Sumatra.
The dark gray-green surface features smooth, weathered contours, deep depressions, and an open area beneath the extended section. These details give the stone a wonderful sense of movement and character.
It's displayed on a custom handmade reddish-brown mahogany daiza, made by Indonesian craftsman Hendra, individually shaped to complement the stone's irregular form.
Highlights:
- Unusual formation resembling a crouching animal
- Deep pockets, rounded surfaces, and sheltered opening
- Dark gray-green coloration with natural texture
- Custom fitted reddish-brown mahogany daiza
Size: 4.75" tall from the table, including the daiza, on an 8.75" wide by 6.5" deep base
The carved display table in one photo is not included.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
